Discover Las Gangarras

A Rustic Canarian Experience Near Our Tenerife Yoga Retreat

Las Gangarras, a local gem near our Tenerife Yoga Retreat, is a charming Canarian restaurant known as a "Guachinche." The term "Guachinche" originates from the 19th century when locals opened their homes to serve food and wine during harvest season. Today, Las Gangarras preserves this tradition, offering authentic Canarian cuisine in a rustic and welcoming atmosphere, just a short walk from our Tenerife Yoga Retreat. This cozy spot is perfect for anyone staying at our Tenerife Yoga Retreat who wants to explore the local culture. Whether you're looking to take a break with a sweet baraquito coffee, or you're eager to try traditional Canarian dishes like papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes with mojo) or ropa vieja (a hearty dish that translates to "old clothes"), Las Gangarras has something to offer. You can also sample the local ron miel (honey rum), a Canarian favorite. The food here is not only delicious but also very reasonably priced, though, like many Canarian restaurants, it’s not particularly vegetarian-friendly. If you're staying at our Tenerife Yoga Retreat and want to explore the surrounding area, Las Gangarras is an excellent choice. In addition to the great food, there's a donkey paddock behind the restaurant where you can pet the animals, as well as an old watermill to explore, making it a charming and authentic Canarian experience during your time in Tenerife.
